This course contains the basic and common competencies that a child development worker or teacher must possess, including the fundamental knowledge that are essential to fulfill their roles and responsibilities. It includes a brief background to Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) as well as the different concepts that are relevant to ECCD services.
This course contains the knowledge and skills related to the management of a child development center’s (CDC) operations, including the conduct of data gathering, conduct of awareness - raising activities, the management of enrollments, the preparation of the CDC, the conduct of parent orientation, and the carrying-out of activities in recognition of the center.
This course contains the knowledge and skills related to the conduct of assessment on progress and development of children, including the assessment of a child’s developmental level, observation tools used, conduct of informal assessment, and the conduct of formal assessments.
This course contains the knowledge and skills related to the implementation of the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Curriculum, including the preparation of the curriculum plan, management, and implementation.
